TEAM MUPD 2019!
I wrote a little something below if you are interested.
Thank you for visiting our MUPD team page!
We had a lot of fun running this last year! I was finishing my chemo therapy when we had the run in 2018, and it meant so much to have you guys out there with me. It looks like you can still join the team virtually if you have plans during the weekend of April 6th so please still sign up and join our team! Plus we get T-SHIRTS! Cancer sucks and unfortunately I think we all know and love someone fighting it or who has fought it. I pray that one day studies and trials will help stop cancer from happening to us and our families. I do sincerely believe that these 5K fundraisers have an impact in helping those studies happen. Please sign up for Team MUPD and if you don't want to or cannot participate please consider donating.
Thank you so much for reading this. There is a little more information below that Head for the Cure worte if you are interested. I hope to see you guys on April 6th!!
Our team is joining the fight against brain cancer by participating in Head for the Cure Mid Missouri on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Head for the Cure is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for brain cancer research.
Head for the Cure works to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters, while celebrating their courage, spirit and energy. Every Head for the Cure event marks a day of celebration where those diagnosed with brain cancer are honored and celebrated by their friends and families, those who have lost their battles are remembered, and we are all inspired to carry on the fight.
Funds raised by Head for the Cure support the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, a network of medical centers with the expertise and the desire to participate in state-of-the-art clinical trials investigating new treatments for malignant brain tumors.
Each year, over 79,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. More than 120 types of brain tumors exist, making effective treatment complicated. Cutting edge research is needed as we continue to make strides in this fight.
